2010 LOWER MAINLAND PROFESSIONAL GOLF TOUR 

Hello Everyone,

With the spring appearing to already be here and the trees beginning to blossom, it is time once again to begin looking forward to another season of great golf. I am pleased to announce that a deal has been reached between The Lower Mainland Professional Golf Tour and Cleveland/Srixon Canada, for the 2010 golf season Srixon Golf will continue their role as the tours title sponsor. A big thank you goes out to Dan Dodman and Hugh Chan for their continued support of the Lower Mainland Professional Golf Tour. The 2010 Srixon Tour promises to be another exciting season.

Through feedback from the 2009 membership body, the committee has made some exciting changes to the tour to ensure its continued success. A couple highlights of what is to come for 2010 are below.

- More events have been added to the calendar.

Last season we hosted 10 events plus our Pro-Am, for 2010 we plan to host 14-15 events and a Pro-Am

- Introduction of a “Member’s Only” season long points race

The season long points race will serve as a qualifier for the Tour Championship and be limited only to tour members, entry into the Tour Championship will be limited to the top 24 players on the points race. This event will be the marquee event of the season, hosted by Capilano Golf & CC and Seymour Golf &CC featuring the largest purse of the season.

- Elimination of the Srixon Tour Raffle.

Over the last couple of seasons, many members have been disinterested in selling raffle tickets. That combined with the cost of printing the raffle tickets and the logistics of prize distribution, it was determined that we would be better suited to charging “Tour Dues” instead. Tour Dues for the 2010 season will be set at $150 which will allow you to play in Member Only events and give you a chance to qualify for the season ending Tour Championship

- Restructuring of the Ball Program.

For the 2010 season, Cleveland/Srixon will offer any tour member that would like to play Srixon balls exclusively in all competitive rounds from April-October a chance to purchase the “Srixon Package” which has a retail value of over $500 for only $168. It will include the following.
o 8 Dozen Z Star or Z StarX Balls
o 6 Srixon Cabretta Leather Gloves
o 2 Srixon Hats

I am working feverishly to finalize the schedule for the 2010 season and will post the registration form on the website www.srixongolftour.com in the coming week. There have been a number of booking conflicts with the Vancouver Golf Tour and I am working with Fraser Mulholland to alleviate some of them and minimize conflicts for those who compete on both tours.
