2006 SRIXON TOUR RESULTS

LEDGEVIEW GOLF CLUB - May 1, 2006
Parry, Jonas and Makinson share first place in a blustery day at Ledgeview! With the winds swirling between 1-2 clubs all day and a true ‘Iron-man’ golf course set-up, the third event on the Lower Mainland Srixon Tour posed a challenge for all members present. Our first co-sanctioned event with the ‘winter based’ Magregor Tour came to a close with three players sharing 1st place honors. Shooting impressive scores of 3-under par 67’s in today’s tough conditions, Bryn Parry of Seymour Creek, Phil Jonas of McCleery Golf Club and Magregor Tour member Matt Makinson each pocketed $500 for their fine play. Being the final event on the Magregor Tour’s schedule, Phil Jonas was also awarded the title of ‘Order of Merit winner’ of their tour for the 2005-‘06 season. Rookie honors went out to Matt Makinson who had a strong showing in his first year on the Magregor Tour. As far as for Parry, he carded his second first place finish in three starts and becomes the first Srixon Tour Member to tumble over the $1,000 mark in our Order of Merit standings. Keep your eyes peeled for some low numbers, as no-one has collected the $500 bonus Jay Park has offered for breaking any existing course record during our tour schedule! Look for the Richmond draw anytime after 12 noon on Friday, May 6th – and if you have not confirmed your entry to the Richmond event by way of post-dated cheque, there are only a couple of spots left in the draw, so you’d better call me ASAP!!
