2006 SRIXON TOUR RESULTS

PITT MEADOWS GOLF CLUB  - July 10, 2006
Parry “On Course” to having a “Record” year in B.C. Professional Golf’
Blistering the Pitt Meadows Golf Club with a course record 64, Bryn Parry of the Seymour Creek Golf Center made it his 6th win on the Srixon Tour and a remarkable 11th win this year overall out of 16 BC PGA events he has played in this year. Parry not only won the 10th event on the Lower Mainland Srixon Tour by 5 shots over Ryan Williams and Mark Ciupka, but he also collected a sweet $1,000 bonus for breaking the Pitt Meadows course record. Since the first event of the Srixon Tour this year, player/sponsor Jay Park had kept his word of offering $1,000 to any player who broke a course record during the Srixon Tour season. Parry was the first to do so this year. Parry looks to continue his prowess next Monday and Tuesday at the BC PGA Assistant Professional Championships at Ledgeview Golf Club where Phil Jonas of McCleery Golf Club will attempt to defend his title

Talks were a plenty of Parry’s fine play this year and if he plans to travel to the PGA Tour qualifying school. When asked by Srixon Tour Commissioner Fraser Mulholland if he had any plans on attending the qualifying school, Parry pondered a moment and answered that his priorities for now on raising his family. Then questioned again about if the opportunity arose where some support was provided to get down to the PGA Tour school, Parry answered ‘I would be down there in a heart beat’.

Since taking the role of Commissioner of the Srixon Tour this year, Mulholland has since been putting plans together for the future development of Vancouver’s young and aspiring junior, amateur and professional golfers. The plans include developing relationships with potential sponsors for players like Bryn and upcoming golfers who have the talent to potentially reach the PGA Tour. If there are any interested parties in taking a role in this development, they can contact Fraser Mulholland at fraser@vancouvergolftour.com. Fraser plans on running a developmental tour that for 2007 will include 10-15 tournaments for our best juniors, amateurs and professionals to battle head to head for an order of merit title that will send the winning player down to the PGA Tour School. The Vancouver Golf Tour will premier their plan of attack for 2007 by joining the best pro’s and juniors together at the end of the summer with their Inaugural Pro-am Championship at the Northview Ridge Golf Course on Aug.31st.
